Dio protektu nian gracan Reĝinon,
Vivu nian nobla Reĝino,
Dio protektu la Reĝinon;
Ŝin venkigu,
Feliĉigu kaj glorigu,
Por ke ŝi regnu nin longtempe;
Dio protektu la Reĝinon.

Ho Sinjoro, nia Dio, leviĝu,
Apartiĝu ŝiajn malamikojn,
Kaj faliĝu ilin.
Konfuzu iliajn politikojn,
Malhelpu siajn kanajlajn ruzojn,
Je Vi ni afiŝas niajn esperojn:
Dio savu nin ĉiujn.

Viajn plej bonajn donojn rezervitajn,
Sur ŝin bonvole verŝu;
Ŝi regnu longtempe;
Ŝi defendu niajn leĝojn
Kaj ĉiam donu al nin kaŭzon
Por kanti kun koro kaj voĉo
Dio protektu la Reĝinon.

Slovenian Translation

Bog, ohrani našo milostno kraljico,
naj živi naša plemenita kraljica,
Bog, ohrani nam kraljico:
pošlji ji zmagoslavno
srečno in slavno
dolgo vladanje nad nami:
Bog, ohrani nam kraljico.

Tvoje najizbranejše darove
zlij na njo;
naj dolgo vlada:
naj brani naše zakone,
in nam vedno daje povod
da pojemo iz srca na glas
Bog, ohrani nam kraljico.

In Canada, they sing this song with this accessional verse:

Our loved Dominion bless
With peace and happiness
From shore to shore;
And let our Empire be
Loyal, united, free
True to herself and Thee
( God save the Queen.  /  Forever more. )

*(n)yeowang--<Queen>: About over 100 years ago, the Korean peninsula used to pronounce "nyeowang," but the South Korean area changed pronunciation as "yeowang" without "n." Not only this pronunciation, but also "ryeogwan--<Inn>" is also replace with "yeogwan" in South Korea; this pronounciation rule is called as the Initial Sound System. However, this Initial Sound System is not accepted in North Korea. That's why the North Koreans still keep the original pronunciation.

*weon(s)u--Enemy: The purpose of using the languge is mainly delivering ideological propaganda in North Korea; the standard North korean accent also sounds strong in this reason. For example. "weonsu" issoftly pronounced in South korea, but "weonssu" is strongly pronounced for emphasising in North Korea

"got/incha--Immedately: "Got" is a word mainly used in South Korea. "Incha" is used in North Korea, but most South Koreans don't know this word.

Nederlandse vertaling (compleet)
Dutch translation (complete)

God, bescherm de Koningin,
Leve onze nobele Koningin,
God, bescherm de Koningin!
Schenk haar victorie, geluk en glorie,
Moge zij lang over ons regeren,
God bescherm de Koningin!

O Heer, onze God, verheft U,
verspreid onze vijanden
en laat hen ten val komen!
Werk hun smerige listen tegen,
verwar hun beleid,
op U richten wij onze hoop,
God, bescherm de Koningin.

Niet in dit land alleen,
maar Gods genade worden gekend
van kust tot kust!
Heer, doe de natiën zien
dat mensen broeders zouden moeten zijn
en één familie vormen,
over de ganse wereld.

Voor elke mogelijke vijand,
voor de aanslag eens sluipmoordenaars,
God bescherm de Koningin!
Op haar ruste uw hand,
voor Britanniës zaak, verdedig
onze moeder, prins en vriend,
God, bescherm de Koningin.

Uw uitgelezen gaven mogen
over haar zijn om uit te putten,
lang moge zij regere!
Moge zij onze wetten verdedigen,
en steeds ons geven reden
om te zingen met hart en stem,
God bescherm de Koningin.

I've noticed for some time that, the official words notwithstanding, British (or more usually, English) crowds invariably sing "God save our Queen" instead of "God save the Queen" in lines 3 and 7.

I had put this down to football-supporter-type ignorance, but yesterday I heard a recording of the Northern Ireland political leader, the Rev. Ian Paisley, singing the anthem -- and he too sang "God save our Queen". I would have thought that he, if anybody, would have been a stickler for getting it right!

Loath as I am to bow to the crowd, is it now perhaps time to recognize "the facts on the ground" and change the official text?

There are three more verses:

Lord grant that Marshall Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the Queen!

This verse, according to Rafal Heydel-Mankoo of ICS Canada,  was added to the British Anthem during the Jacobite Rebellion of 1746, but it stopped being used once the rebels had been duly crushed." For obvious reasons it no longer forms part of the anthem.

Interestingly, although 'God Save the King' became the Anthem in the Hanoverian era, it was actually first used as a patriotic tune by the Stuart Jacobites during their battles against the Hanoverians. (The Jacobite/Stuart version had existed for at least fifty years prior to this.) The Hanoverian verse (which became the National Anthem) was first sung in public in September 1745 in a London theatre. The audience leapt to their feet and demanded encores. Here is what they heard:

God Save our Noble King
God Save Great George Our King
God Save the King!
Send him Victorious
Happy and Glorious
Long to Reign over us
God Save the King!

You wouldn't know it by some of the discussion out there.  Even now, more than 250 years later, I've heard it said and written many many times that "God Save the Queen" isn't an acceptable anthem in Scotland "because of that 'rebellious Scots to crush' stuff."

I guess this is a byproduct of the anthem not officially being proclaimed and the words being a matter of tradition.  While that verse traditionally isn't sung, it is still out there and hasn't been codified out because nothing's been codified in yet.

And then there is the football version of this anthem:

God save our gracious Team
Those who are strong and mean,
God save our team:
Send us victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over them:
God save our team.

Our team is big and best,
We gonna crush the rest,
And make them fall,
Laugh at their folish tries
They won't win any price,
We are the ones who gonna win:
God save us all.

I have a question : does anyone know a good source about the origin of this anthem ? I was asked if it was a french song adopted as the British anthem, or if it is a true British song, which some French claimed the authorship.

Here are the Finnish lyrics performed when a king reigns.

Quote:
Jumala, suojahas

Jumala, suojahas
sulkeos kuningas,
varjele hän!
Kansaamme hallitkoon,
onnehen ohjatkoon,
kunniaan saattakoon,
varjele hän!
