Wien Neêrlandsch bloed

From 1815-1932, the official Dutch national anthem was the song "Wien Neerlandsch Bloed" (Who is of Dutch blood). It was written by Hendrik Tollens (1780-1856) on the occasion of the foundation of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in 1815, the music was composed by the German Johann Wilhelm Wilms (1772-1847). Wilms was born in Thuringia, grew up in Elberfeld (today part of the City of Wuppertal) and moved to Amsterdam in 1791. Although being the official national anthem, "Wien Neerlandsch Blood" remained in the shadow of the song "Wilhelmus van Nassouwe", which was always regarded as the more popular, unofficial national anthem. When Queen Wilhelmina was crowned in 1898, she selected the "Wilhelmus" for this ceremony. On 10th May 1932, the cabinet decided to replace "Wien Neerlandsch Bloed" with the more popular "Wilhelmus".  

There are different text versions of "Wien Neerlandsch Bloed" at the internet; they differ in mentioning "King" or "Queen" (like the UK anthem, depending on the gender of the head of state), but there are also some other differences; therefore I am not sure which was the official one:

Van vreemde smetten vrij
Wie voor zijn volk van liefde gloeit
Verheff' den zang als wij!
Hij roem'met allen welgezind
Den onverbreekb'ren band
Die Neêrland en Oranje bindt:

BTW, the German words in Reinhard Popp's sheet music correspond to verses 1 and 3 of the second version.

The first thought that I had when I found the different version was that a revised text was published when Wilhelmina became Queen of the Netherlands in 1890; hence the change from "Vorst" to "Vorstin".

But I wonder also what the differences in orthography mean; IMO for example the first line in the different versions is almost similar in the meaning, but different in orthography:

Although I can understand some Dutch, I am not so familiar with Dutch orthography. Can you tell which version corresponds with contemporary Dutch? And could this perhaps indicate when the different versions might have been used?

Here follows the text of a song, composed to celebrate the 50th anniversary the return of William of Orange (later King William I) from England to the Netherlands after years of French occupation. This song uses the same melody of the then national anthem: Wien Neêrlands bloed.
