The pre-1994 national anthem of Zimbabwe (or, to be exact, the "temporary national anthem", as the Zimbabwe embassy in Bonn told me in 1984) was the famous "Nkosi Sikelel' i Afrika" (God bless Africa) by Enoch Sontonga, which is now a part of the South African national anthem. The version used in Zimbabwe was entitled "Ishe Komborera Africa", which in Shona language also means "God Bless Africa". The music of this anthem is also used in Tanzania and Zambia.

I do not know whether it is possible to find a vocal with the Shona lyrics; but a vocal with the original Xhosa lyrics can be heard at http://www.polity.org.za/misc/iafrika.wav (originally posted by ztc in the South Africa thread)
